Optical wavelength tuning with a fluidic grating
Abstract
Optical wavelength tuning is achieved with an elastomeric grating actuated by fluid injection. By varying groove spacing through the modification of fluid volume, we demonstrate wavelength tuning from 487.64 nm to 631.64 nm with an injected volume of 0.65 mL. With this wide range of selectable wavelengths, our method has potential utility in a variety of optical applications.
