Abstract

Sieves with mesh sizes of 38 μm, 45 μm, and 53 μm were employed to separate Bi-2212 powders. As-deposited films were synthesized via EPD with suspension ratio 0.1g powder per 30 ml of ethanol and parameters of 100 V for 10 minutes. The samples were imaged under a SEM and grain sizes were measured and tallied. The resulting histograms and CDF curves showed the distribution of the grains with respect to the sieve sizes. It has been shown that the sizes of the deposited grains were all less than 10 μm. A model was made to simulate the behavior of the particles with respect to preset reaction times in an ideal EPD prior to processing that can be related to the size range of the deposited grains.
