Effective equation for multiple sequential gratings

Abstract

We determine the effective grating equation that describes consecutive arbitrarily oriented diffraction gratings. The equation is verified using a two-grating system composed of a transmission type grating (600 lines/mm) and a spatial light modulator (SLM).
