Abstract

A developed algorithm is used to characterize numerical and experimental phase maps. The algorithm is sensitive to fringe densities, thus, can recognize areas of variable fringe spacing. Evolution of holographic fringe patterns due to increasing deformation is visualized in the progression of the contrast maps, thus, demonstrating the effectiveness of the algorithm.
