Enhancing LDR-based rotational detection with perfect petal beams
Abstract
We further investigate the potential of a light-dependent resistor (LDR) as an angular sensor for structured light by examining its response to rotating perfect petal beams (PPBs). Through simulations, we explore how the structural parameters of the beam—specifically the radius and thickness of the annular slit—affect LDR performance. By systematically varying these parameters, we identify the conditions that yield the highest signal visibility. Compared to regular petal beams, PPBs achieve significantly greater visibility, with an improvement of up to 86.3%. These findings demonstrate that such structured light offers a substantial enhancement in LDR-based rotational detection.
