SPP2025 Conference Aims and Scope
Abstract
In 2025 the Samahang Pisika ng Pilipinas holds its 44th Physics Conference and Annual Meeting at the National Institute of Physics, University of the Philippines Diliman from 25−28 June 2025. This National Physics Congress is held annually in support of the aims and goals the Samahan, including the advancement of pure and applied physics in the Philippines, the establishment of a strong national research tradition and capability in physics, and the advancement of national and international cooperation and solidarity in science.
Additionally, the Samahan celebrates the United Nations' observance of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, and chooses Entangled! as its theme for SPP2025. The Conference Organizers and Secretariat have invited dozens of invited speakers from the Philipines and abroad to present their work, all of which touch on at least one aspect of quantum physics. We hope you find their presentations on quantum materials, quantum nanotechnology, quantum optics, and quantum computing inspiring and useful for your own research.
The scope of the Scientific Program of SPP2025 covers the wide range of topics in physics that are of interest to our members. Of note is the new session topic Quantum Science and Technology that we introduced for the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. The remaining parallel sessions have talks in Biological and Medical Physics, Complex Systems and Data Analytics and Physics Education, Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science, Gravitational Physics and Astrophysics, High Energy and Nuclear Physics, Instrumentation Physics, Optics and Photonics, Plasma Physics, and Theoretical and Mathematical Physics. We also have three poster sessions: one focused on Photonics, Condensed Matter, Materials and Quantum Science, another on Theoretical Physics, High Energy Physics, Astrophysics, and finally one on Complex Systems, Instrumentation Physics, Physics Education.
