Formation of stars from molecular cloud near a black hole
Abstract
Stars form from the collapse of dense regions of space within molecular clouds. When star formation occurs near a region where gravitational force is so strong, not even light can escape – a black hole, this could have an effect on the formation of star. In this study, we provide a solution for the threshold (safe) distance where star formation can be stable occurring within the vicinity of a Schwarzschild black hole. We found that there exists a specific value Λt related to the black hole mass and molecular cloud mass that keeps the balance between the inner gravity of the molecular cloud and the pull of gravity of the black hole which will make the radius of the molecular cloud (shell radius) constant.
