Eigenfunctions of the free shifted time of arrival

Abstract

We solve the eigenfunctions of the free shifted time of arrival by converting the integral form of the operator into a differential equation, and then solving via Frobenius method. We then look at the confined case and obtain characteristic equations satisfied by the eigenvalues. These eigenvalues were shown to coincide with the results of the Gaussian quadrature method.
