An effective way to locate a Jollibee or McDonald's store in the National Capital Region
Abstract
We analyze the distribution of Jollibee and McDonald's stores in the National Capital Region and determine their clustering behavior and geographic relationship with each other and with other high-client density establishments (schools, hotels and churches). In February 2018 we located 288 Jollibee and 195 McDonald’s stores (195) in the NCR and their degree of clustering were found to depend on a reference set of points. Jollibee and McDonald’s stores tend to cluster more towards each other as compared to randomly distributed points but they are more disperse when compared to the aforementioned establishments of interest. They exhibit positive short-range geographic interaction with each other. Moreover, clusters of HEIs and hotels generally have greater probability of having a Jollibee or McDonald's store in their vicinity as compared to churches which have been observed to have lesser access to both stores.
