Camera tilt calibration by optical flow for vehicular traffic speed estimation
Abstract
An optical flow-based algorithm is proposed which calibrates camera tilt and subsequently estimates vehicle speeds given a traffic video. The obtained speed histograms are compared to a previously developed background subtraction-based algorithm. Sensitivity to vehicle height and estimated vanishing line is also analyzed.
