Abstract

In this paper, an analysis of the orbital status of the first Filipino-made satellite, DIWATA-1, has been conducted using open source tools such as STK and SOCRATES. The orbital status of DIWATA-1 has been obtained by (1) analyzing its orbital lifetime based on the historical Two-Line Element Sets (TLEs); and (2) assessing the probability of conjunction with other space objects. The methods described provided sufficient and timely status report but it is recommended that other more accurate methods be utilized for the future space program of the country.
