Abstract

This descriptive research sought to (1) quantify the sound level (in decibels) at the study areas (specifically, the rooms) of the Cadet Corps, Armed Forces of the Philippines at the Philippine Military Academy during the Study Period, and (2) to get the perspective of the students regarding their room’s conduciveness for learning. Sound levels were measured six rooms in different barracks selected by stratified sampling, and complete observation was done during the data gathering. Split-half was applied to the data. In the group interviews, the room occupants having been presented with the sound level in the barracks, agreed on the sounds heard, discussed the acceptability, intrusiveness, and noisiness of these sounds – unanimously agreed that the barracks is conducive to learning.
