Abstract

This paper seeks to correlate MISR aerosol optical depth retrievals and ground measured particulate matter (PM₂.₅ and PM₁₀) concentrations in Manila Observatory for the years 2004 and 2005. Both PM₂.₅ (R² =0.7464) and PM10 (R² =0.6784) showed a good correlation between the two parameters. Using binning analysis, the correlative strength of the two variables was attested and emphasized with PM₂.₅ having an R² of 0.9779 and PM₁₀ with an R² of 0.9458.
