Abstract

This paper seeks to correlate MISR aerosol optical depth retrievals and ground measured particulate matter (PMâ‚‚.â‚… and PMâ‚â‚€) concentrations in Manila Observatory for the years 2004 and 2005. Both PMâ‚‚.â‚… (R² =0.7464) and PM10 (R² =0.6784) showed a good correlation between the two parameters. Using binning analysis, the correlative strength of the two variables was attested and emphasized with PMâ‚‚.â‚… having an R² of 0.9779 and PMâ‚â‚€ with an R² of 0.9458.
