Spatiotemporal dynamics of Hodgkin-Huxley neurons in a lattice network
Abstract
We explore the spatiotemporal dynamics of Hodgkin-Huxley neurons that are connected in a lattice network. By extensively scanning the coupling strength, noise level and the direction of neuron-neuron connectivity, we show that for certain parameter combinations, synchronization of this network type can be enhanced by: (1) noise addition and (2) random flipping of the direction of neuron-neuron connection.
