Abstract

ZnO pulsed laser deposition targets were ablated by a Qswitched 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser at incident power from 40m W to 105 mW in atmosphere environment. Transient evolution of the optical emission of the laser-produced plasma was also measured and plasma duration of 1. 37 λs (FWHM) was obtained for both powder pellet and annealed ceramic ZnO targets. Time integrated emission spectroscopy identified the plasma species as Zn (I) – 467.6 nm, 471.7 nm, 472.5 nm, 481.1 nm, and N (II) – 635 nm.
