Abstract

Susceptibility measurements have been made on a bulk YBCO sample, under fixed AC fields and varying DC field. The effects of both AC and DC fields have been investigated. The addition of a DC field broadens the in phase transition, reveals the intergranular component, shifts the transition temperature and decreases the susceptibility. The intergranular losses broaden in the out of phase while the maximum shifts to lower temperature as the DC field is decreased.
