Abstract

Finite difference (FD) method is utilized to solve the wave equation for stimulated Raman scattering with a focused Gaussian beam input and model the Stokes amplification inside a Raman medium. Moreover, pump depletion is observed upon the generation of the Stokes beam. With increasing Raman gain coefficient, a significant narrowing of the Stokes beam is observed.
