Fabrication of doped-zinc oxide (ZnO) varistors tape using powder-in-tube method

Abstract

ZnO varistors were fabricated using powder-in-tube method. Results show that powder-in-tube fabrication presents a possible technique to produce low-cost ZnO varistors tape. At the same time, the effects of doping of PbO and Bi₂O₃ were observed. Addition of dopants resulted to fusion of grain boundaries, increase in strength and better non-linear response.
