Fabrication of doped-zinc oxide (ZnO) varistors tape using powder-in-tube method

Abstract

ZnO varistors were fabricated using powder-in-tube method. Results show that powder-in-tube fabrication presents a possible technique to produce low-cost ZnO varistors tape. At the same time, the effects of doping of PbO and Bi2O3 were observed. Addition of dopants resulted to fusion of grain boundaries, increase in strength and better non-linear response.
