Abstract

Nd3+:(La1–x,Bax)F3–x (x = 0.1) efficiently grown by the micro-pulling down method is investigated. Transparency down to 160 nm and broad fluorescence centered at 175 nm make it a potential vacuum ultraviolet laser material and scintillator.
