Temporal behavior of nitrogen Raman lines with increasing input energy
Abstract
We investigate the temporal behavior of the Raman lines generated through stimulated Raman scattering in nitrogen at a constant pressure of 3.45 MPa and varying laser pump energy. Pulse shortening of up to 11.4% is observed for AS1 at the minimum laser pump energy of 67.6 mJ. By increasing the pump energy, pulse widths are observed to broaden since the Raman threshold needed for SRS generation is attained faster.
