Abstract

We describe a simple experiment using a laser doppler velocimetry (LDV) setup for the measurements of convection flow speeds. Measurements are carried out during steady state of the convection process. The results are good and reproducible. Although comparison with literature is not straightforward, various interesting observations can be derived from the data which can be used as starting point for future experiments.
