Abstract

We report on the effects of the superconducting properties of Y-doped Bi-2212 thin films. Partial substitution of Yttrium on Calcium for Bi-2212 with x = 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2 Bi2Sr2YxCax−1CuxO8+δ were grown on MgO substrate via sedimentation deposition technique. Samples showed c-axis oriented films having c-axis lengths of 30.149 Å, 29.985 Å, 29.983 Å, 29.924 Å with Tc of 85 K, 82 K, 80 K, 76 K for 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, doping concentrations, respectively. Surface morphologies of the films produced were flat and lustrous for 15% and 20% Y-doped 2212.
