Harmonic susceptibilities of bulk MgB2 at various AC magnetic fields
Abstract
Second up to seventh harmonic susceptibilities of MgB2, prepared by binding commercially available MgB2 powder using transformer varnish and having a transition temperature of 38.5 K, were carefully measured using a mutual inductance bridge setup. Both even and odd harmonics were obtained for pure AC magnetic fields at constant excitation frequencies of 200 Hz, 800 Hz and 3200 Hz and field strengths varying from 0.31 mT to 3.64 mT. Results show that the harmonic response of MgB2 follows a general shape for each component of a certain harmonic.
