Abstract

An interactive program for simulating Fresnel diffraction produced by rectangular, single slit, and straight edge apertures, was developed in Visual Basic. The program is targeted to aid professors in teaching wave optics and help students understand and visualize the diffraction patterns produced by the different apertures without the use of an actual diffraction setup.
