Monitoring human multi-tasking and distraction with an optical system
Abstract
An optical system for observing human multi-tasking and distraction is presented. The system allows for real-time quantitative measurements of performance while completing a task. Our experimental results for two tasks, solving a puzzle and reading a cellphone text message, indicate that the completion of one task is suspended in favor of the other.
