A theory-based explanation of alternative conception
Abstract
Kruglanski’s Lay Epistemic Theory and concept of schema were used to describe a person's knowledge system, knowledge acquisition process and knowledge construction process. A model was then constructed to describe the formation of alternative conceptions. This model was then used to predict the properties and characteristics of alternative conception.
