Abstract

We present measurements of signal loss in a 50 m optical fiber/freespace link caused by Metro Manila rainfall. Minimum and maximum attenuation are 0.08 dB and 4.05 dB, respectively. The frequency distribution of attenuation is observed to follow a power law with exponent –2.3473.
