Abstract

We have successfully fabricated Pb-doped 2223 from Pb-2212, Ca2CuO3 and CuO and studied it using Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-ray Diffraction. The volume fraction of 2223 increased with annealing temperature from 830°C to 850°C. Using SEM, we have also seen the presence of fused grains, holes, step-like structure which we associated with the formation of 2223 in the "glassy phase." We related the concept of fast Pb-2223 kinetics happening in "glassy phase" to existing models and data.
