Conceptual Survey in Electricity and Magnetism (CSEM) at the National Institute of Physics
Abstract
We present results of the Conceptual Survey in Electricity and Magnetism (CSEM) conducted in the National Institute of Physics. The survey involved students taking Physics 72 and 102. Pretest results show that the initial level of knowledge across courses does not vary significantly. Posttest results show varying course performance. Item analysis reveals knowledge of students on the topics as well as alternative conceptions.
