Abstract

An experiment using mice was performed to verify the results of a cellular automata model of the exit dynamics of pedestrians in a two-dimensional room. At low iterations, the model replicates most of the results of the mice experiments including streaming behavior for door widths equal to one unit (w = 1) and the onset of power law behavior in the burst-size frequency distribution for w > 1.
