A numerical approach in the dynamical segregation of granular material through a pipe
Abstract
We demonstrate a simple mechanical system that acts as a filter for granular materials with equal sizes but varying coefficients of restitutions. The mechanism involved in our apparatus might explain the natural size segregation dynamics occurring in nature.
