Abstract

This paper characterizes the spatio-temporal behavior of a focused pulsed Gaussian beam that is propagating in a Kerr medium by solving the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) using the split step Fourier method. Both the axial and transverse behavior of the spatial beam distribution were analyzed as a function of time.
