LIDAR: A laser radar system for environmental monitoring

Abstract

This paper aims to give an overview based on a review of literature on the lidar to discuss the basic principles behind its operation and the various capabilities of this laser remote sensing system. In general, laser remote sensing is one of the active areas of laser applications and benefits a major sector of the general populace. It Is one area where lasers can make a significant impact in the Philippines.
