Abstract

Two techniques to test atomic model potentials are proposed and illustrated for two specific model potentials. The first test is based on a generalization of the virial theorem. The second technique is a method to calculate ∂ψ/∂λ, where λ is a parameter that appears in the Hamiltonian, using Green's functions.
