Gauge-invariant bilocals and the Schwinger model

Abstract

Starting from the gauge-invariant bilocal object ÏˆÌ…(y)Γexp (-ie∫xy Aμdzμ) ψ(x), we derive the "physical" propagating scalar field of mass eÏ€-1/2 in the Schwinger model. This is done by using the quantum operator equations of motion and taking the limit x 🡒 y.
