The derivation of the Lee-Yang term via stochastic quantization

Abstract

The Langevin equation chosen here is such that it must possess a positive semidefinite Fokker-Planck Hamiltonian in order to obtain the correct expression for the equilibrium distribution function. Stratonovich calculus is used then to transform a stochastic equation with an additive white noise to one with multiplicative (distorted) white noise to arrive at the so-called Lee-Yang term.
