Abstract

The Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (Nd:YAG) laser is a solid state laser widely used in industry and academic research. Its applications include general research, medicine, and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR). Our interest in the construction of the Nd:YAG laser lies in its application in a two-wavelength LIDAR system (Mie Scattering LIDAR) that could be accomplished with a Q-switched Nd:YAG lasing at 1.06μm.
