Liquid-phase assisted fabrication of Y-Ba-Cu-O films via lead (IV) oxide addition
Abstract
In this paper, we present how liquid-phase addition affects the formation of Y-Ba-Cu-O (YBCO) films during the fabrication process using the sedimentation deposition technique. In addition, we identify how the introduction of liquid-phase affects the surface morphology and superconducting transition temperature (Tc) of the films. The results suggest significant effect of liquid-phase addition, which yielded good surface morphology, by improving matter transport and grain growth. Resistance-Temperature measurements also show improvement of Tc with liquid-phase addition. This study shows that YBCO films can be fabricated through a simple mechanical, low-cost, and non-vacuum technique.
