Effects of nominal Indium doping on Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+d
Abstract
This paper aims to serve as a preliminary study on the effect doping Indium- a material with high nuclear magnetic moment into a type II superconductor. Bi2Sr2-xInxCa2CuO8+d bulk samples were fabricated at different indium doping concentrations via solid state reaction method. XRD data shows Bi-2212 pseudo-tetragonal crystal with insignificant lattice distortions up to x = 0.45. AC susceptibility measurement shows that indium seems to hinder in expelling the magnetic field. Normal state resistivity decreases with increasing indium concentration.
