Effects of Mn on the surface morphology of doped GdBa2-xMnxCu3O7-δ sample
Abstract
Manganese is used as a substitute to Barium in high temperature GdBCO superconductor. The solid phase reaction of the sample at increasing amount of doping concentrations is viewed under the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The morphology of the sample is found to be altered by the Mn dopant. Effects on the grain sizes, waviness and roughness due to doping are investigated. The alteration in the surface morphology of the grains of the bulk samples is due to the insolubility of Mn on the GdBCO matrix.
