Velocity distribution evolution for colliding one dimensional hard-core gases
Abstract
We derive an explicit expression for the velocity distribution evolution for two groups of colliding hard-core particles with unequal masses, initial temperatures, and group velocities for both discrete and continuous time case. We investigate the long time limit and obtain relations between the initial and equilibrium distributions in terms of mean values and variance.
