Abstract

The zeroth order diffraction (ZOD) pattern from the dead spaces of the spatial light modulator is suppressed by creating a correction beam with ZOD properties. Phase shift is added to the correction beam to induce destructive interference between the two beams. We are able to suppress the ZOD pattern up to 44.5%, with relative phase equal to π.
