Ground movement detection using a wireless accelerometer

Abstract

The performance of a low-cost microcontroller based wireless accelerometer was demonstrated to have a performance comparable to existing seismometers. Seismic noise was characterized to establish a threshold for detecting ground movements that are not caused by human activities.
