Abstract

Absorption spectroscopy was performed on a He glow discharge using halogen lamp as the reference light source. Line-of-sight density measurements were made for 2 3P metastable states of He. These transitions correspond to wavelengths 587.51 nm and 706.40 nm with densities 1.578x106 m−2 s and 1.338x106 m−2 s, respectively, calculated with a factor of the normalized Doppler lineshape function.
