Effect of oxygen plasma treatment on the UV absorbance of electrospun polylactic acid-cellulose acetate fiber mats
Abstract
Oxygen plasma treatment of electrospun polylactic acid- cellulose acetate fibers mats was conducted using a low pressure DC parallel plate plasma device and the UV-Vis spectra of the untreated and treated fibers were obtained. There was an observed decrease in the absorbance of plasma treated samples compared to the untreated fibers. As the plasma discharge current increases, the absorbance was further reduced. Optical emission spectra of the oxygen plasma used was also determined.
