Effect of broadband and monochromatic light sources on the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cells
Abstract
We report the direct effects of broadband and monochromatic (594nm, 632nm) light sources on the growth of yeast cells. The growth of the cells were: slower by 40% under white light, strongly inhibited after 1hr under 5.82mW 632.8nm laser, and minimally (10%) disturbed under 3.82mW 594.0nm laser.
