Abstract

Metamaterials designed for gigahertz (GHz) to terahertz (THz) have been fabricated using photomask printed using a commercial laser printer. The spectral response of U-shaped metallic structures is characterized using THz time-domain transmission spectroscopy (TDTS). The thickness of U-shaped copper metal arrays was observed to play a role in the effect of electric field
polarization on the transmission spectra. In this study we showed that the use of a self-made photomask reduces the fabrication time and cost, making it a possible route for an alternative process for THz metamaterials fabrication.
