Optical analysis of argon atmospheric plasma jet
Abstract
There have been numerous innovations in the field of developing atmospheric pressure plasma. This paper investigates the optical characteristics of an argon (Ar) atmospheric plasma jet (AAPJ). By analyzing the video and looking at the emission spectra of the AAPJ, we were able to conclude the following: at certain flow rates, the jet reaches a maximum length, at high frames per second, the plume is actually a continuous arc discharge, the predominant species in the emission spectra are Ar I and Ar II, the emission intensity decreases as the distance from the electrodes increases.
