Analysis and modeling of edge Weight distributions in dense small node co-authorship networks
Abstract
Weighted co-authorship networks were constructed from legislation produced during the eighth to the 14th Congresses of the Philippines. The edges of these co-authorship networks were weighed based on the number of legislative documents co-authored by the representatives acting as nodes. A model was presented to explain the dynamics of the congresses. Networks with edge weight histograms similar to the real world networks were produced for 8th and 9th congress. For the 10th to 12th congresses, only the centers of the distributions were similar, as the peaks in the distributions made them difficult to model.
