Abstract

Copper nanowires (CuNW’s) were synthesized via electrochemical deposition (ED) technique using copper sulfate as electrolyte on porous alumina (AAO) template. The AAO template was etched with varying time and the pore diameter was found to increase at a rate of 0.649 nanometers per minute. Strong correlation between the pore diameter and nanowire diameter was confirmed by small percent differences in their average diameters. It was observed that the length of the CuNW’s is dependent to the etching time of AAO template.
